The phin is made up of our parts:
- a brewing chamber;
- a gravity press
- a perforated plate that holds the chamber up on top of the cup
- and a lid that retains heat during the brewing process

This method of brewing coffee can be described as a fusion of the French press and the pour-over. The phin is placed on top of your cup in a manner similar to a pour-over dripper. However, the small filter holes in the phin allow for a longer infusion time.

Our 100% robusta dark roast suits coffee lovers who crave a strong and bold taste without sacrificing smoothness.  Using artisanal methods our master roaster maintains the natural oils and flavours of the beans while minimizing bitterness. Which has resulted in a deliciously crafted and well-balanced roast that invokes caramel, dark chocolate and toasted nuts overtones.

We recommend brewing with Onyx Phin Filter, but French press or Aeropress can also be used, allowing flavours to fully develop. The brew is best served on its own and can also be enjoyed as an espresso, latte or any other coffee-based drink.
